Welcome to Good Contact. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Good Contact iOS and macOS application ("App", "Software", "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using Good Contact, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Good Contact.
1. Agreement to Terms
Acceptance
By creating an account, downloading, or using Good Contact, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Good Contact.
Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of Good Contact after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
2. Description of Service
Good Contact is a privacy-focused contact management application for iOS and macOS. It helps you maintain meaningful relationships through encrypted contact storage, reminders, activity tracking, and engagement plans.
Privacy-First Commitment: Good Contact is built with privacy as a core principle. We employ zero-knowledge encryption, meaning we cannot access your contact data even if we wanted to. Your data belongs to you, and only you.
3. License Grant
Limited License
Good Contact grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Install and use Good Contact on Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac) you own or control
- Use Good Contact for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Access Good Contact's features in accordance with these Terms
Premium Tier Licensing
If you subscribe to Good Contact Premium:
- Your license includes access to Premium features during your active subscription period
- The license is tied to your Apple ID and subscription status
- Premium features are available on all Apple devices signed into your Apple ID
4. Account & Security
Passphrase Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your encryption passphrase. Your passphrase encrypts all your contact data using AES-256-GCM encryption.
Encryption Key Backup
If you create an account with Good Contact, your encryption key is securely backed up to our servers (encrypted with your passphrase). This allows you to recover your data on a new device by signing in and entering your passphrase. However, if you forget your passphrase, we cannot recover it or your encrypted data.
Important
Loss of your passphrase means permanent loss of access to your encrypted data. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from forgotten passphrases.
Data Backups
You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your data. While Good Contact provides export and backup features, we recommend regularly exporting your contacts. We are not responsible for any data loss, regardless of cause.
5. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Passphrase Security: Maintaining the confidentiality of your account and passphrase
- Account Activity: All activities that occur under your account
- Accuracy: Ensuring the accuracy of information you provide
- Device Security: Maintaining the security of your devices
- Standard Devices: Using Good Contact only on devices with standard iOS/macOS security features
- Legal Compliance: Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to:
- Reverse Engineer: Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of Good Contact
- Redistribute: Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute Good Contact without authorization
- Circumvent Security: Bypass, disable, or interfere with security features or encryption
- Violate Laws: Use Good Contact for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Harm Infrastructure: Overload, attack, or interfere with Good Contact's infrastructure or networks
- Commercial Use: Use Good Contact for commercial purposes without a commercial license
- Automated Access: Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access Good Contact
7. Device Security & Modified Devices
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for the security of your devices
- Good Contact implements industry-standard encryption, but these protections may be compromised on jailbroken, rooted, or otherwise modified devices
- If you use Good Contact on a modified device, security features including encryption and data isolation may not function as intended
- We do not warrant that the application will function securely on modified devices
- Use on jailbroken or modified devices is at your own risk
- We are not liable for any data breaches, unauthorized access, or loss of data that occurs on modified devices
- We reserve the right to decline technical support for issues on modified devices
9. Data Usage
Your contact data is stored locally on your device, encrypted with your passphrase. If you enable iCloud sync (Premium), your already-encrypted data syncs via Apple's CloudKit. We do not access, collect, or sell your contact information. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual Property
Our Rights
All rights, title, and interest in and to Good Contact, including all intellectual property rights, are and will remain the exclusive property of Good Contact and its licensors. This includes:
- Source code and object code
- User interface designs and graphics
- Trademarks, service marks, and logos
- Documentation and marketing materials
Trademark Notice
"Good Contact" and associated logos are trademarks of Good Contact. You may not use these trademarks without prior written permission.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties
IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE
GOOD CONTACT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- Good Contact will meet your requirements or expectations
- Good Contact will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The results obtained from using Good Contact will be accurate or reliable
- Any defects or errors will be corrected
- Your data will never be lost (always maintain backups)
12. Limitation of Liability
LIABILITY LIMITATION
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOOD CONTACT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, WHETHER IN AN ACTION IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE GOOD CONTACT.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Data Loss: Loss of contact data, including from forgotten passphrases, device failure, or software bugs
- Sync Failures: Failures in CloudKit sync or conflicts between devices
- Security Breaches: Unauthorized access to your data due to device compromise or modified devices
- Missed Reminders: Any missed reminders or notification failures
- Business Losses: Any business interruption or lost revenue
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Good Contact, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:
- Your use of Good Contact
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
- Any data you store or process using Good Contact
14. Governing Law & Disputes
Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction of residence, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Dispute Resolution
In the event of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Good Contact:
- First, contact us at hello@georgeartemis.com to attempt informal resolution
- If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration or small claims court
- You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits
15. Termination
You may terminate your use of Good Contact at any time by uninstalling the application. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the service for violation of these Terms, including attempts to bypass security features or premium subscription requirements.
16. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification. Your continued use of Good Contact after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Good Contact regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
